At Soobaak Vintage, we're currently deep into vintage timepieces—the type of watches that evoke a certain vibe: the kind of piece an older gentleman with a mysterious past (and a luxurious present) might wear. We’re working on curating the perfect collection of those types, and we’re excited to see just how many treasures Soobaak can gather.

We’re well aware that the vintage watch industry is a highly specialized field, and we’re careful to bring in only those pieces that feel genuinely “Soobaak.” Here are a few that fit our vibe:

  • Vintage Cartier Tank

  • Rolex Explorer I

  • Seiko divers from the late ’70s and early ’80s

  • Early 2000s Hermès watches

  • And lately, solid 18k gold or two-tone watches

Recently, another piece caught our attention: the 1980s Audemars Piguet Ellipse 4249. Originally sold in Japan on June 15, 1984, this watch has spent 40 years developing that perfect patina—and now, it’s here with us at Soobaak.

If you’ve always thought of rectangular watches as either a Tank or a Reverso, think again! The AP Ellipse 4249 is a solid contender. Price-wise, it falls right between those two icons, making it a piece that anyone with an appreciation for a ‘reformed bad grandpa’ aesthetic can enjoy.

🍉 Priced at 5,500,000 KRW

  • We’ll handle any A/S needs, though service charges may apply.

We’re thrilled to introduce the latest from Soobaak Vintage Clothing (SVC): the classic Oxford Button-Down Shirt. SVC is back, and we’re bringing our best once more! It’s been a while since we’ve developed a new private brand item, but we promised ourselves not to release anything until it showed clear progress over our past work.

Our White Oxford Shirt has long been a steady seller, designed so simply that it could be produced with just two quick phone calls: one to order the fabric, and another to place the shirt order with the factory. But it wasn’t a matter of profit that kept us from making more. Instead, we felt it was time to return with a shirt that had improved in every way.

We made subtle updates to the pattern, giving it a slightly roomier fit overall—especially across the shoulders, lending a relaxed touch that’s less formal yet retains the shirt’s timeless, mature charm in the collar design.

Crafted with the highest quality materials, our shirt comes from one of Korea’s top factories. Each shirt is stitched with premium threads and buttons. In fact, when a friend of mine, a designer from Dongdaemun, heard about our factory costs, they exclaimed, "That’s crazy expensive!" And they had a point—our production cost is around 3.5 times higher than what they usually pay.

For the fabric, we’ve chosen a unique cotton blend woven with silk, giving it a subtle, slightly rugged look due to the "nep" texture. This fabric looks especially captivating in blue, and since it’s a rare Japanese fabric with limited availability, we recommend acting fast. Personally, I’d love to stash away ten of each color—I’m that satisfied with the result.

Check out this postman bag from Hermès! Isn’t the presence it has thanks to its size incredible?! If I were the Minister of Culture in France, I would have collaborated with Hermès to create a postman bag in the size of an Hermès Herbag cabin bag, just for those mail carriers! Haha. Oh, I could have bought the old ones cheaply and sold them at a high price… just thinking about it makes me a bit nostalgic.

Sometimes large bags are in fashion, and other times small bags take the spotlight. People like us just buy pretty bags, regardless of the trend, and use them based on our mood and needs. That’s because we’re not consuming trending brands or designs; we appreciate the classics, so it doesn’t really matter.

The great thing about the old Herbag is that it comes with two bags! The one I'm currently holding is the "wide" version, but there's also a "long" version as an extra bag... so I can switch things up a bit depending on my needs and feelings. Isn't that such an Hermès touch?

Among the vintage shops in South Korea, I've sold quite a few, and one of the best sellers is this old Hermès Herbag. Yes, I’m confident not just in sales but also in curation. However, stock is running low, especially for the king size, and I haven’t found any other listings in South Korea for this color with the extra bag.

I hope someone out there enjoys it! Thank you, as always.
